Emily's New Tricks... Take 2

Emily is now starting to "crawl" around the house.  I guess it isn't officially considered crawling because her stomach is still on the floor, but she is definitely moving.  She's been moving around on the floor for several weeks now, but in the last week or so she has really picked up speed.  We call it her army crawl because she is mostly pulling herself across the room with her arms. Andrew had to put up a baby gate in the bathroom to keep Emily from crawling under the toilet while he showers in the morning.  Here are some photos of her in action...

What is that bright light?  I'm going to need to see that camera...

No really... just stay still for a minute so I can get a better taste... I mean look at it.

Oktoberfest

This weekend, we took Emily out for her first Oktoberfest.  Andrew's friend, Emily's family runs the carnival at Oktoberfest, so she comes down from Missouri every year to visit her family and Andrew tries to make it out there to see her.  The last two years, we had the boys with us, so she gave us a bunch of ride tickets so they can enjoy the carnival.  Emily (Stuart) didn't get to do the chicken dance on the table this year, but we will definitely practice it before next year so she'll be prepared.

Emily and I with the Oktoberfest guy... there was a really big chicken that I tried to get in the picture too, but I was too slow, so we missed out on the big chicken...

The Remodel...

This weekend, Andrew decided that the living room was lacking natural light, so he decided to add a new skylight to brighten up the room.  Ok... so that's not exactly how it happened.  Andrew went into the attic to check on the wires for the kitchen light... it just stopped working one day, and he finally went up there to look at it, when he lost his balance.  Next thing I knew, I saw Andrew's feet come through the ceiling... luckily Emily and I weren't sitting in our typical location... It took Andrew's parents and me all weekend to clean up the mess.  To make a long story short, we now have a large sheet of plastic covering the hole in our ceiling.  Andrew is pretty sore from the ordeal, but he should be back to himself in no time.

The funny thing is, Royal (Andrew's dad) came over earlier today and messed with the light switch and the kitchen lights are now working... ha.
